Your metabolism is partly ruled by genetics but there are foods that help to stimulate the metabolism along with a healthy lifestyle and following a training program. It seems like everyone these days wants a quick fix or a pill that will make everything all better…but it doesn’t exactly work that way. In order to lose weight one must BOOST their metabolism, make healthy food choices and get your butt moving!
With all that said, there are thermogenic type foods that help and aid in fat loss….basically heating up the body to burn more calories through the day.

1. Egg whites

Egg whites are rich in branched-chain amino acids, which keep your metabolism revving. Eggs are also loaded with protein and vitamin D.

2. Lean meat

Lean protein is full of iron. Deficiencies in the mineral can slow metabolism. Eat three to four daily servings of iron-rich foods, such as chicken or fortified cereal.

3. Water

If you’re even mildly dehydrated, your metabolism may slow down. Tip: Drink water cold, which forces your body to use more calories to warm it up.

4. Chili peppers

Chili peppers contain capsaicin, a chemical compound that can kick metabolism into higher gear. Try adding a tablespoon of chopped chili peppers to a meal once a day.

Green tea

The brew contains a plant compound called EGCG, which promotes fat-burning.

5. Coconut oil

A potent source of of medium chain triglycerides (MCT), coconut oil has been shown to help in the process of excess calorie burning and thus weight loss, as well as increased fat oxidation.

6. Fit Whey

This is packed with whey protein and 150 mg of caffeine, which helps boost metabolism and it tastes fantastic.

But remember, regardless of the temperature outside, the body’s internal temperature and metabolic output will be determined through quality sleep, consistent exercise, reducing stress and a healthy nutrition program. When this foundation is set then adding some metabolic stimulating foods will lead to faster fat loss.
